And you thought it was all make believe! Here’s a shot of Mom’s gorgeous Log Cabin quilt. Doesn’t it look dreamy on MY bed? The streak in the middle is just the sun shining through the window.
Here’s a close-up of the feathers in the blue.
I’ve always been crafty … well, that too, I guess. But you know what I mean: I’ve always done crafts and, as you can see, it runs in the family. Quilts are my latest obsession and I notice I’m not running to the fabric shop as often as I used to. Does that mean I’m ready for a new craft? Not in the least! It just means I’m ready to step up the difficulty level a bit. Though I’ve done a fair share of FMQ, and a few dabbles with wholecloth type stuff, I think you may be seeing more of that here, along with my regular quilting. For example, a year ago, I’d have been happy to just put plain feathers in this quilt. But now … It’s got to be something more. Something … more elaborate, more testing of my skills.
I often think that people mistake boredom for lack of interest. They ARE two different things. Status quo is boring. Try challenging yourself instead.
What did you FMQ today?
